what is particular sound? I don't mean the genre, I mean the technical way that this was recorded, there is this texture or flavor to it, I can't find words to describe it, I just love the quality of the sound, is it the mastering?

How was it really with this album? Was it recorded as Sisters of Mercy or as SSV, a separate Eldritch project? According to the official Sisters website, it was written that "SSV are not the Sisters. SSV's only album ('Go Figure') features music by P. Bellendir and words by T. Schroeder. It was produced by P. Bellendir in 1997. It does not feature anything by Andrew Eldritch except some sampled vocals allegedly recorded over two days."

It's like DAF (same analog synths, same mix of machines and live drums with the cymbal accents), but...just not that good. I've tried with this a few times, but anything from the first five DAF albums is light years better.
